We went back to the vet today. The dog's urinalysis and culture showed no bacteria. Two more x-rays and another ultrasound show no stones, and a basically normal looking bladder.
She's got crystals, so maybe they're the problem or she's just slow healing from surgery.
So, now we go on a different anti-inflammatory, fish oil, a pro-biotic and glucosamine. Vet asks surgeon for additional thoughts.
Finish the antibiotic. Eat nothing but the prescription diet. Get the cat to bring us a mouse so we can look at its entrails for clues...
I really hope this dog improves dramatically soon.
We spent the weekend visiting family out of town. We were gone for 60 hours. Which is also my estimate of how long it took me to prepare for the trip.
On the whole, it went really well. Baby slept well enough. Her great-grandparents were gracious about the whole household being awakened at 5:30 in the morning. We got family pictures and went swimming and fed the baby a meatball...
I only saw five minutes of FoxNews and my hand didn't get eaten by a porta-crib until we were in the driveway leaving to go home. There was DairyQueen and PapaJohns and a swing set and a disco ball and wine and beer and it was a very good time.
