The gas man came and turned back on my gas Friday night. This meant I got my heat, stove, oven and hot water back. In theory. Unfortunately, my questionably safe-looking weird heaters were not deemed safe. Well, the one in the bedroom was. That's a shame cause we couldn't get it to light.
The one in the living room... let me explain, these things look like Franklin Stoves, but they are gas powered radiators. The thermostat is a nob on the front. The living room one has a blower too. The bedroom just radiates.
The one in the living room's vent was deemed unsafe. We called the landlord. He came Saturday night. Yeah, that's all night Friday and all day Saturday without heat. Waiting for the landlord to come.
He saw how the pipe was no longer completely going into the wall, there was a gap. So, he pushed the heater back an inch and declared it fixed. Then he said there was carbon monoxide in that pipe. This did not sit well with me. I thought it should be connected by more than sliding together. I want an air tight seal if the stuff in there is air that can kill me.
He left. I called my mom. Mom's boyfriend is an expert at anything that goes into a house or garage. Seriously. He said to turn the thing off and he would come and examine it. So, that's Saturday night, and still no heat.
They came down on Sunday and he fixed my heater. They also brought a carbon monoxide detector. My heat is back. Except not in the bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. Basically, I have heat in one room. It's the main room though.
Then I watched Gilmore Girls and mom and her boyfriend went out to lunch. They brought Waste and me back some pizza. Then I found out what the fee for all this help was......... they wanted me to go hiking with them.....
Okay, I am going home now.... Stay tuned for the tale of the hiking.... coming soon.
