We all suggested she keep sleeping after she woke up at 5:15 this morning, and she took us up on that for maybe half an hour. I did offer her a morning nap, and she declined. And then I offered her a stroller nap, which she also declined. And then she fell asleep in her high chair with sauerkraut all over her and a piece of nectarine still in her mouth.
That might be the most toddler-like thing she's done to date.
(I did move her to her crib once she was sound asleep.)
(Why are we cooking meals that no one likes? It's sort of a long story and I want to get this typed before the baby wakes up. Maybe another time.)
Me: You know what's sad? How we don't have any cookies.
Husband: True
Me: I would eat some cookies
Husband: Yep cookies are great
Me: But instead we ate okra, chard, mushrooms and onion for dinner. I would list all of those as foods I don't like.
Me: Foods I do like include cookies.
Husband: I agree with most of that
Me: Except you like onion, right? So. We are just going to accept our cookie-less state?
Husband: Maybe
Me: Remember that time you bought me all the cookies at Subway? Byger [sic] King has actual brand name Otis Spunkmeyers 2 for $1 now.
Me: When we got drunk and then walked to both [the market] and [the convenience store] in the rain, that was over Oreos, right?
Husband: yes
Me: This is why people think sugar addiction is legit
Me: Cookies have power
I am the most spoiled spoiled, so two kinds of cookies and one bottle of sparkling wine magically appeared at my house at nine o'clock at night and I didn't have to get up off my ass to make that happen.
We saved one kind of cookie and the wine for another night.
